Lincoln High School Announces 2024 Prom Court

On Friday, May 3rd the annual Ellwood City Lincoln High School Prom “A Night With The Stars” will be held at the Timber House in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Prior to arriving at the Timber House, students will participate in the annual LHS Promenade held at the Leslie Sabo Memorial Auditorium. During the ceremony Senior members of the Prom court will be recognized with the 2024 King and Queen to be crowned later that evening. Riverside Lions Club Monthly Update

The Riverside Lions Club had a busy past few weeks hosting events, providing support, and earning awards. The month of February started the Lions Club off with the Math 24 competition. The Riverside club spearheads this event and is supported by all the Lions clubs in Beaver County and Pizza Joes. This year’s event was held at the New Brighton High School, with approximately 150 students participating. Math 24 is a card game played by 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students designed to test their skills with math puzzles. There is a competition at each school in the…


Craft & Vendor Show On Saturday

Come out and enjoy a craft and vendor show on Saturday, May 4th. The show will take place at Lillyville Church of God, located on Hickernell Road, Ellwood City. Basket raffles, red & white pizza, nachos, Orams doughnuts, and bake sale will be offered in addition to the crafts vendors on display. The event is sponsored by the Ellwood City Area Municipal Woman’s Club and all proceeds go towards scholarship awards and area civic needs.

McQuistion Shines, Wolverines Knock Off Rival Riverside

Amber McQuistion shined at the plate and on the mound Thursday, leading Ellwood City to a 5-2 victory over Riverside. McQuistion collected three hits, including a solo homerun, and three RBIs to power the offense and struck out nine Panthers in her complete game pitching performance. The Wolverines took the lead early by way of the second inning solo homer by McQuistion and never relinquished the lead. EC Baseball Beats Laurel, Softball Blasts Beaver Falls

Both Ellwood City baseball and softball teams collected victories on Wednesday afternoon. The Wolverines baseball team defeated Laurel 10-8 at Sanders Field behind two doubles and a 4-RBI performance by catcher Jordan Keller. After Ellwood City posted three runs in the first inning, the Wolverines tacked on three more in the second inning as Keller doubled in a run and Aaron Lake smacked an RBI single. Lake finished with three singles and three RBIs on the afternoon. Over $6.3 Million in State Infrastructure Grants Announced For Beaver & Lawrence Counties

$600M Settlement Reached By Norfolk Southern Related To East Palestine Train Derailment

HARRISBURG – In the wake of the recent $600 million settlement reached by Norfolk Southern in its class-action lawsuit related to its train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, last year, state Sens. Panther slugger Bo Fornataro connected on two homeruns Monday afternoon as Riverside easily dismissed Quaker Valley 11-0 to stay unbeaten on its season.
