Ellwood City Library Hosting CPR Training Class on Thursday

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities and this week include a CPR training class on Thursday beginning at 5:30 p.m. Anita Yoder will conduct training for residents for free. No sign up necessary. ROUNDBALL ROUNDUP: Ellwood City, Riverside Each Split Games In Their Respective Christmas Tournaments

The Ellwood City boys basketball team split their two games in the Mercer Christmas Tournament this week. On Monday, the Wolverines easily dispatched of Clarion-Limestone 77-36 behind a 21-point scoring performance by Kaleb Servick. Servick added seven assists and four steals in the victory. Aaron Lake posted a double-double finishing with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and added seven assists for Ellwood City. Eight players scored in the victory as Ellwood City held a comfortable 51-16 halftime lead. The Wolverines were defeated 68-60 by Lakeview in the championship game on Tuesday. Energy Exec Gives Alma Mater BC3 $100K, Creating 125 Scholarships

(Butler, PA) A 1972 graduate of Butler County Community College who founded an oil and gas exploration company has contributed $100,000 to the BC3 Education Foundation with an unprecedented request that it be disbursed in one academic year through his creation of 125 scholarships ranging in amount from $500 to $2,000. “That’s the way I wanted it to work, and I am happy with that,” said Gary Griwatz, of Cranberry Township and of Tampa, Fla. Ellwood City Area Students Announced On CCBC President’s & Dean’s List for Fall 2025 Semester

(Monaca) – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to release 22 names of full-time and part-time Ellwood City area students who achieved either President’s List or Dean’s List honors for the fall 2025 semester. Local State Lawmakers Announce $4.6 Million in State Funding for 22 Beaver County Projects

Darlington Township, Franklin Township and North Sewickley Township were among those awarded over $4.6 million in state grant funding focused on improving municipal infrastructure and public safety according to Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) and Reps. Roman Kozak (R-14), Josh Kail (R-15) and Robert Matzie (D-16). The funding was administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
