First Annual Shoaf’s Spaghetti Supper To Be Held

The first annual Shoaf’s Spaghetti Supper will be held on February 24, 2024 at Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church (291 Wurtemburg Road, Ellwood City PA 16117) from 5:00pm to 7:30pm in memory of our dear friend, Marc Shoaf. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 10 years old, and free for children under 2 years. The dinner includes a pasta dinner, salad, roll, dessert, coffee, pop, water and one door prize ticket. Only 200 dinner tickets will be sold. Take out will be an option should seating be limited. Camp Allegheny Received State Grant For Improvement Project

HARRISBURG – The Salvation Army Camp Allegheny was among those receiving state grants announced by Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) today. More than $730,000 in state grants have been awarded for seven community improvement projects in Beaver, Butler and Lawrence counties. “Creating or improving recreational opportunities helps further enrich our communities and provides places where our residents and travelers can enjoy outdoor activities,” said Vogel. “I’m glad to see these projects will benefit from this funding and know they will add to the revitalization of our area.” The following projects are being funded with grants from the Greenways, Trails, and…

Ellwood City collected a section victory on the road Tuesday night, picking up a 58-32 victory over the Riverside Panthers. Joseph Roth led all scorers with 19 points and was among seven Wolverines who scored in the victory.  Roth finished with 13 rebounds and five assists. Ellwood City Historical Society To Award Four Scholarships

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award four (4) fifteen hundred dollar ($1,500.00) scholarships this year. All graduating seniors living in the Ellwood City Area School District or the Riverside School District are eligible. Applications and requirements may be obtained from either high school Guidance Counselor, or from the Ellwood City Area Historical Society. The History Center at 310 5th Street is open Monday through Thursday from 10 am until 2 pm. Borough Manager Provides Update on Wampum Avenue Pump Station Project During Council Regular Meeting

During the regular meeting of Ellwood City Borough Coucil Tuesday night, Borough Manager Kevin Swogger said the Wampum Avenue Pump Station Project is about 40 percent completed. The Borough had announced the start of the project in October in an effort to improve the infrastructure in the area. The project is a sewer upgrade for multiple existing sewer transport lines in the wooded area East of Wampum Ave. A pump station will also be built to collect from these lines to be transported to the Ellwood City Borough Wastewater Treatment Plant for treatment. Officer Robert Bird Receives A Commendation For Life Saving Act

Officer Robert Bird received a commendation from Mayor Anthony J. Court for his heroic acts that saved a man’s life. Officer Bird was dispatched to a vehicle that crashed into a residence on Orchard Avenue in Ellwood City last week. Upon arrival he encountered a truck that caught fire. The driver of which was trapped inside suffering from a medical emergency.
