Northeast Ohio Author Releases Debut Children’s Book Based in Ellwood City

An Ohio author released a debut children’s book, Wild at Heart: A Little Boy’s Unforgettable Bond with a Raccoon, published by Page Publishing in Conneaut Lake, PA.

Julie Bender Limpach is a proud resident of Northeast Ohio, where she balances her professional career with her roles as a loving wife and devoted mother. With a background in fine art museums, media relations, and business development, Julie has long been dedicated to community service and has a deep passion for writing.

The charming and whimsical story takes place in Ellwood City where Limpach’s father grew up on 12th Street Extension and he would go on long walks behind his home.

Wild at Heart is a delightful 26-page book, perfect for young readers. The story follows a lonely little boy, Junior, who, while wandering through the magical woods, realizes he has become lost in his thoughts. As he begins to head home, he senses a presence and discovers that he’s not alone. Alongside Junior, readers will meet his loving family and his playful pet raccoon, Sandy, in this heartwarming tale.

The inspiration behind the book is deeply personal for Julie. She shares, “I wrote this book to honor my dad, who we lost in the fall of 2023. This story, told to me by him, helped guide me through my grief and allowed me to fulfill a bucket-list dream of becoming an author.”

He didn’t want a funeral,” adds Limpach. “I didn’t have the opportunity to write a eulogy so my grief came out of me in this children’s book.”

Aimed at children ages 2 to 10, Wild at Heart is the perfect early reader for young imaginations. It makes a thoughtful and meaningful gift for the holiday season. Don’t miss the chance to bring this enchanting story into your home today.

For more information, or to purchase a copy, visit Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and stay tuned for availability on iTunes and Google Play.

“I hope to have a reading at the library soon,” says Limpach. “I hope you are able to share the nice sweet story that I wanted to share. I spent a lot of time in Ellwood City with my grandparents on 12th Street and my other grandparents the Simoff’s on Wayne Avenue. I have many fond childhood memories from spending time there.”

    Julie,
I am so happy to hear of your book. Your Simoff grandparents were very special to my family. You grandfather Boris and my father both were born in Soposko in Macadonia, just a tiny village. They came to America together through Canada. Your grandmother and I would ride the bus to work at the knitting mill together. I look forward to reading your book with my triplet 7 year old grand children. I know your grandparents would be so proud of you.
