CCBC PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM RANKED #1 IN PENNSYLVANIA

Monaca, Pa. – Nursing experts at PracticalNursing.org ranked the Community College of Beaver County Practical Nursing (PN) program the #1 Program in Pennsylvania in 2015. The organization reviewed the results of the National Council Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) over the past 5 years to determine how well a school is preparing students for a career as a practical nurse. Deconstruction crews are now working on taking apart the church brick by brick, apparently beginning with the archway facing Fifth Street, which has now been all but removed. Shingles have also been removed facing Spring Avenue. There are minor traffic stops on Spring Ave west of Fifth Street, so taking an alternative route may be preferable. They Came From Behind: Riverside Girls Basketball Defeats Brentwood, Advances to Next Round of Playoffs

In a late game upset, the Riverside girls basketball team overthrew Brentwood for a narrow 3-point victory in Wednesday’s 45-42 game against Ambridge High School. Riverside was pinned down in the first half 25-15, but came came back in the second half, especially in the 18-8 final quarter, to narrowly snatch victory from Brentwood. Top scorer Katie Stang delivered 26 points, 16 from field goals and 10 from free throws. Also scoring for Riverside were Morgan Bailey, nine, Jordan Annarumo, six, Natalie Bologna, two, and Sydney Wolf, two. Perry Township Board of Supervisors 2016 Reorganization Meeting

The Perry Township Board of Supervisors held their reorganization meeting at 4 p.m. with their regular meeting immediately following on Monday, Jan. 4 at the Perry Township Municipal Building. Supervisors in attendance were John Zias, James Radich, Tim Boots, Secretary/Treasurer Janice Marshall and Solicitor Greg Fox. No visitors attended. The following appointments were made for the 2016: Board Appointments Chairman position: Boots motioned and Radich second for John Zias to be Chairman of the Board. Members of the Lincoln High School Cheering Squads gathered for their annual banquet at Connoquenessing Country Club on Feb. 16. Announcements Picnic shelter reservations will begin on the fourth Monday in February (Feb. 22) for Borough residents and beginning on the fourth Monday in March (Mar. 28) for non-Borough residents.
