Mayor Presents Second Beautification Award

On Wednesday, Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Nicole and John McClaren of Evans Drive the second 2016 Beautification Award and gift certificate. The McClaren’s were very appreciative for the nomination of their home for this award, and Mayor Court thanked them for taking pride in their home and in their hometown of Ellwood City.    


Gibbons to Host Free Shredding Event this Saturday

BEAVER FALLS, June 14 – State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, is hosting a free shredding event for the community to destroy unneeded confidential documents. Goldieann Bookamer First Tommy Novosel Scholarship Winner

Goldieann Bookamer, a Lincoln High School Class of 2016 graduate, was awarded the first Tommy Novosel Scholarship. The scholarship was awarded during the June 5, 2016 service at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, Ellwood City Parish. Ellwood Flag at Half-Mast in Respect for Victims of Orlando Shooting

The Ellwood City Municipal Building flag is held at half mast today in respect for the victims of the Orlando shooting yesterday. A shooter killed at least 50 people and wounded 53 others at a gay nightclub Sunday morning. The gunmen, Omar Mateen, was American-born and pledged allegiance to ISIS before the attack. Mateen was killed by a SWAT team. Ellwood City joins the rest of the nation and communities around the world in solidarity against violent extremism.
