Riverside Christmas Angel Drive Continues Thru December 8th

Tis the season to help those in our community that need it. The Riverside Christmas Angel Drive, hosted by Franklin Township, continues through Friday, December 8th. All donations stay within the Riverside School District. The drive is currently accepting donations such as: Personal Care and Hygiene Products Games Make-up Socks Blankets Toys Gift cards Drop off at one of two locations: Franklin Township 897 Route 288, Fombell, PA 16123 Monday -Friday 8:30 A.M. – 3:30P.M. 3rd Annual Wolverine Madness Tonight!

Come out for the madness and support the Ellwood City Wolverines for their Winter Sports Preview TONIGHT, Wednesday, November 29th, at Lincoln High School. The ‘Meet The Wolverines Night’ will feature the introduction of 15+ teams – players and coaches – that will be participating in 2023-24 winter sports for Ellwood City. Ellwood City Wrestling Eyes Continued Growth, Playoffs

The Ellwood City Wrestling team under the direction of coach John Fleming is eyeing a playoff berth this season. Along with continued growth within the program, Fleming points out the Wolverines team will grow in numbers as well and have its biggest squad under his watch with a handful of football players joining the team for the 2023-24 campaign. Franklin Township Looking To Hire Police Chief

Franklin Township is currently accepting applications to fill the position of a full-time Police Chief. According to the township, it is recommended that applicants have 10 years or more of continuous experience in law enforcement and 5 years or more of continuous experience as a Second Line Supervisor, and an associate degree or better in Police Science or related field of experiences which demonstrate police management. Candidates must possess a PA Act 120 Certification, valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operators License, and be certified by the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission. Ellwood City Area School District Seeking To Fill School Board Vacancy

According to a press release made available by the district this week, the Board of School Directors for the Ellwood City Area School District is seeking letters of interest and resumes to fill a vacancy for a two-year term on the School Board. The position became available upon the untimely passing of Mr. Gary Rozanski who had just recently been reelected. Mr. Rozanski served the district honorably for fourteen years holding positions of leadership several times. Ellwood City Borough Council Approves Police Use of PepperBall Guns; Provides Update on Wampum Avenue Pump Station Project

During Monday night’s voting meeting, Borough Council approved a change order #1 from Pollard Land Services, Inc. in the amount of $98,000 for the purpose of milling and overlaying the full width of Wampum Avenue from Fifth Street to Madison Avenue Ext. and from Madison Ave. Ext. to the entrance of the access road.
