Ellwood City Man Facing Child Pornography Charges

A local Ellwood City man pleaded guilty yesterday to distributing sadistic child pornography on a peer-to-peer network from a computer at his house, where he lived with his parents. Lucas Klobetanz, 40, was state-investigated and charged in 2015 after he admittedly stalked Amish children in Lawrence and Mercer County in an attempt to lure them into outhouses near Amish school grounds. He pleaded guilty to stalking and prosecutors dropped a related charge of luring. He was sentenced to three months to two years in that case. The WPIAL announced their 2017 high school basketball playoffs Tuesday night with three local teams earning a playoff birth.  Both Riverside girls and boys squads made the playoff picture along with the Ellwood City boys basketball team. Property Tax/Rent Rebates Now Available at District Offices

Applications are now available for the Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program and qualified individuals should file as soon as possible, according to Senator Elder Vogel, Jr. The maximum standard rebate is $650. The program is open to state residents age 65 or older; widows and widowers age 50 or older; and, 100 percent disabled people 18 or older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners and $15,000 annually for renters, with half of Social Security income excluded.
