PHOTOS: 2016 Ellwood City Pie Festival (indoors!)

Due to pending thunderstorms and wet weather forecasted to enter the area Thursday evening, the annual Pie Festival was moved indoors to the Lincoln High School large gymnasium.  The change was announced by the school early Thursday afternoon and later reported confirmed on Twitter, first by the Lincoln Blue Band account (@LHSBlueBand). The event is normally held at Helling Stadium, but precautions were taken by moving the event indoors this year. Lincoln High School Blue Band members and Ellwood City fall sport team members were announced.

Criminal Complaints and Police Reports

Domestic dispute left victim walking to the nearest police station According to the criminal complaint filed on August 16, a woman reported a domestic assault involving her and her boyfriend of six years. The victim said the incident took place when the two of them were riding in the defendants car together, going towards Ohio, and an argument started. The boyfriend, Michael Lee Nash, 41, of Florida, supposedly struck the victims face several times causing a laceration upon the bridge of her nose. The victim asked the defendant to pull his car over so she could urinate, where Nash again…

In America the number of stray animals has reached epidemic proportions. According to the ASPCA website, though it’s impossible to get an exact number of stray pets in the USA, it is estimated the numbers of stray cats alone reach into the 70 thousand range. The ASPCA also lists other statistics regarding the importance of spaying and neutering pets: Fertile cats produce, on average, one to two litters of kittens a year. Gibbons thanks residents for participating in Tele-Town Hall
