PHOTOS: Lady Wolverines Open Section Play with 15-0 Victory Over Riverside

   In the section opener for Ellwood City, the Wolverine bats heated up just like the weather. The offense banged out 13 hits in just 3 innings of work as the game was halted by the mercy rule. Ariana Garroway and Zoe Kalantzis both hit shots that left the yard. Garroway finished the day 3-3 with a 3 run blast, scored twice and totaled 4 rbi’s. Two Local Moms Baking Their Way to Lawrence Avenue

Sweet Caroline’s isn’t the only sweet-based business coming to Lawrence Avenue this season; The Sweet Shop, a specialty bakery, will be opening their doors next to Kimpel’s Jewelers sometime in the late spring or early summer. PHOTO: Firefighter Honored After Passing

Richard “Dick” Streckeisen, 73, of Ellwood City, was honored after his passing Sunday morning. Dick was a faithful and devoted firefighter who was suffering from ALS. “Dick did more for others than he would ever think of doing for himself. He was our 2016 Firefighter of the year and will be greatly missed by the entire community,” a fellow fire fighter stated.

Bernstine Votes to Support Budget Plan That Reins In State Spending

HARRISBURG – Rep. Ellwood City Wolverines Grab Lead in Seventh Inning for Victory Over New Brighton Ellwood City Wolverines took the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over New Brighton on Monday. The game was tied at two with Ellwood City Wolverines batting in the top of the seventh when Anthony Roth singled off of Debo, driving in one run.
