POLICE REPORT: Identity Theft, Public Drunkenness

Local Women Suffers Identity Theft On Monday October 15 at 12:00 p.m., a local women reported that she was sent a $304.60 phone bill from Verizon Wireless for two cell phone lines she had not opened. When contacted, Verizon refused to release who opened the accounts, how they did it, and the mailing address where the two phones had been sent to. No suspect names have been released. Attorney General’s Office to Speak at Riverside on Social Media

On Wednesday, October 17th, as part of a Riverside School District Parent Outreach Night, the Attorney General’s Office will speak as part of a free seminar regarding parents, children, and social media. Admission is free for the seminar geared towards parents, but all are welcomed to attend the ninety minute seminar, “Social Media 101 For Parents.” The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Riverside High School auditorium and last until 7:30 p.m. according to information made available by the district. PHOTOS: Panthers Knock Off Wolverines In Rivalry Game

The Riverside Panthers used a 127-yard rushing performance by LeMarcus Cleckley to knock off the Ellwood City Wolverines 21-7 to capture the Rivell Cup victory. Cleckley found the end zone in the third quarter while quarterback Ben Hughes connected on two touchdown strikes, a 14-yard score to Nathan Sciarro in the first half and a 6-yard connection to Nic Ottaviani, to lead the Panthers (5-2, 3-2) offense to victory.  Ottaviani also finished with 46 yards rushing while Sciarro finished with a game-high five catches. VIDEO: Building Partially Collapses On Lawrence Ave

According to multiple news reports, a portion of a brick building on the 400 block of Lawrence Avenue fell outward Thursday afternoon in Ellwood City.  Parts of brick at 425 Lawrence Avenue, Franus Architects Associates, fell outward and onto the roof of the neighboring building, Taste of China, causing some noise and chaos. Borough Yard Waste Pickup Schedule Change

The Borough of Ellwood City has advised its residents that the borough yard waste pickup scheduled for the week of October 28th has been moved to the week of December 9th. However, the remaining pickups remain the same. The remaining weeks are October 14, November 11 and 25, and now December 9. According to the borough website, green borough yard waste bins are available for residents to dispose of their simple yard waste. If a resident has extra yard waste that does not fit into a container, it is recommended that they bundle and tie branches together. These branch bundles…

On Saturday October 13, Reed’s Service Inc. will be holding their first annual Changing Seasons Event from 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m at their location at 1312 Woodside Avenue. Wayne Township Turkey Shoot Results

The Ellwood-Wampum Rod and Gun Club held turkey shoots on Tuesday, September 25 and Tuesday, October 2. The winners of the September 25 shoot were Zack Pratt, Dale Alborn, Jerry Sadler, Shane Price and Aaron Kelly. Howard Allison was a double winner, and George Tincani won the door prize.
