Ticket Sales For Riv-Ell Basketball Game

Ellwood City will be pre-selling basketball tickets for the Tuesday, January 14th basketball game against Riverside. Ellwood City High School will presale Student tickets for $2.00. ALL ELLWOOD STUDENTS must have the BLUE ticket or a season pass to sit in the Ellwood City student section.  Ellwood City will also presale Adult tickets for $5.00 and  Riverside has received 150 student tickets for presale. Butler Health System to Open Facility in North Star Plaza

Butler Health System announced it will be opening a location in Ellwood City in the North Star Plaza. In November, Chive opened its doors on Lawrence Avenue. With its first month over, people have either eaten there, heard of it, or are among those of us that are wondering what exactly this new restaurant is. United Fund Campaign Extended To End Of January

The Ellwood City United Fund board is appealing for help as the year 2019 is past and the goal for the 2020 campaign is short, $16,900. Celli Named Ellwood City Council President

George Celli will serve as Ellwood City Council president for 2020-2021. During its reorganization meeting Monday, council voted 4-3 to elect Celli. Councilman James Barry will serve as vice president following a 4-3 vote. Councilman Rob Brough and Councilwomen Lisa Guerrera and Judith Dici voted “No” to both nominations. Newly elected council members Celli, Caleb Cragle, and Dici were sworn into office. Council also set the meeting schedule for 2020. Acclaimed Local Artist and Author to Share Her Personal Journey at January’s Meeting

January’s guest speaker at the Ellwood City Area Historical Society’s monthly meeting on the 13th will be acclaimed local author and visual artist, Lynda McKinney Lambert. A retired Professor of Fine Arts at Geneva College, Lynda’s poetry and non-fiction essays have been published in a variety of literary journals, anthologies, and academic writings, as well as her personal accomplishments that are featured in several books. Lynda’s unique personal story involves her sudden and profound loss of sight in 2007 that she had to overcome through intensive rehabilitation.
