POLICE: Hitchhicker Wanted After Stabbing Driver

On June 27, at around 2:26 AM, Ellwood City Police Department officers reported to an area hospital after a call came in to report a man was in the lobby bleeding from the neck. When they made contact with victim John Lucchesi and while waiting for emergency services to arrive, police questioned the man as to what happened. The following are police criminal complaints filed by the Ellwood City Police Department. PUBLIC INTOXICATION On Tuesday, July 7 at 1:08 AM, ECPD reported to Hazel Manor for a disturbance in the parking lot. When they arrived, they made contact with a visibly intoxicated Jerrin Brandon, 30, of Fombell, outside the front door of the bar. BC3 Announces Drive-Thru Commencement for Class of 2020

(Butler, PA) Graduates in Butler County Community College’s Class of 2020 can celebrate their achievement during a 1.2-mile-long drive-thru commencement that begins at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 on BC3’s main campus in Butler Township.Graduates who attended BC3’s main campus or its additional locations in Armstrong, Butler, Jefferson, Lawrence or Mercer counties and who have registered for commencement should bring their mortarboard, gown, tassel and degree cover to the ceremony, which is expected to last daylong. Ellwood City Off To Strong Start In Tri-County HS Summer League

Ellwood City is off to a strong start in the 2020 Tri-County High School Summer League. The team is 5-1 after nearly a month of the season. The league consists of 15 teams from Mercer, Butler, and Lawrence Counties. Ellwood defeated Hermitage 9-4 on Tuesday rebounding from its lone loss of the season last Thursday. On Tuesday, Zion Bunney (3 IP) and Nathan Scott (5 IP) share pitching duties for the victors. Stiefel Park Summer Hockey League Cancelled

Due to the new guidelines of mask requirements, the Stiefel Park Hockey summer session has been cancelled. Originally, the decision had been made for the summer league to start after the 4th of July weekend, due to restrictions in Pennsylvania and many players traveling the country for vacations. They had to postpone the season originally due to the rink being located in Beaver County and weren’t even able to begin a season until the county entered the Green Phase. Local Man Charged for making Terroristic Threats to ex-girlfriend 22-year-old Michael Sopo of Harrisville, Pennsylvania is being charged with multiple forms of assault and harassment after his ex-girlfriend called and reported him for an altercation on Wednesday, June 17.
