The Ellwood City Area School District will be getting a very smart weapon detection system. Bernstine, Brown Announce Farm-to-School Grant Awards in Lawrence County

Ellwood City survived an upset bid from cross creek rival Riverside Friday night in the annual installment of the RivEll Cup. The Wolverines picked up a hard fought 13-9 victory on the road, improving to 7-0 for the first time in 80 years. Everett Bleakney Jr., board member and past-president of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society, will be the guest speaker at the Society’s public meeting at the History Center, 310 Fifth Street, this Monday, October 14th beginning at 7:00 p.m. This entertaining presentation will be a look at the practice of medicine in Ellwood City in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Ellwood City Women’s Network Hosting 8th Annual Girls Night Out

Ellwood City Women’s Network will be having their 8th annual Girls Night Out on November 20th at 6:00 p.m. at Shakespeares Restaurant. Tickets are $25.00 (which includes dinner) and must be purchased in advance and are available at Turner-Hyde Funeral Home and Konsignment Konnections. There will be craft vendors and a Chinese auction and 50/50 and entertainment by Vaughn Hudspath and others. All proceeds will be donated to The Divine Grace Ministerium Food Bank which helps all those in need throughout Ellwood City and beyond.

BC3 Earns WPCC Golf Championship, Covert Places Second

Butler County Community College men’s golfers Friday won the program’s fourth consecutive team title, the Pioneers’ Jacob Marquardt captured BC3’s fourth individual crown in a row and Lincoln High School graduate Mitchell Covert finished second only after edging the 2023 champion in a sudden-death playoff following regulation play in the postseason tournament.
