Stonecrest Business Park Receives $1M Improvement Funds Grant

New Beaver Borough, PA — The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recently announced the award of up to $1,000,000 in Transportation Infrastructure Improvement Funds (TIIF) to Stonecrest Business Park for transportation improvements in New Beaver Borough, Lawrence County. Vogel Announces September Food Drive During Hunger Action Month

HARRISBURG – Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) will be holding a food drive throughout September in honor of Hunger Action Month in Pennsylvania and across the nation. Vogel’s Rochester and Cranberry Township district offices will be accepting unexpired, non-perishable food items Sept. 3 – 30. At end of the month, food items will be donated to a local food bank. ROUND-UP: EC Golf Remains Unbeaten, Volleyball Earns Two Victories

The Ellwood City boys golf team ran their unbeaten streak to ten games on Thursday with a 198-242 victory over Union at Delmar Golf Course. Three Wolverines fired rounds in the 30’s in the victory – Jordan Keller led the charge with a 36 while Gino Biondi and Braden Roberts each chipped in with rounds of 39. On Wednesday, the team earned a 206-215 victory over Wilmington. Jordan Keller collected a low round score of 37 to lead the Wolverines. Andy Lin fired a round of 40. Ellwood City Varsity Football Game Versus Shenango Postponed

Due to the tragic circumstances surrounding an unexpected death of a Shenango student this week, the Ellwood City varsity football game versus Shenango scheduled for Friday has been postponed. “First, and most importantly, our thoughts, prayers and support are directed toward our friends at Shenango,” said Ellwood City Superintendent Wes Shipley in an emailed statement. “We are deeply saddened to acknowledge that a 17-year-old student at Shenango High School tragically passed away yesterday evening,” Superintendent Dr. Joseph McCormick said in a statement Wednesday. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the student’s family and friends.” Ellwood City is attempting to reschedule…

BC3 To Replace Tech Devices With $300K Grant

Butler County Community College has received a $300,000 grant from the state Department of Education that will fund the replacement of approximately 300 electronic devices that allow for network connectivity among BC3’s main campus and its additional locations in Armstrong, Butler, Jefferson, Lawrence and Mercer counties. The 95 switches and routers and nearly 200 wireless access points are nearing the end of their lifespan and will no longer be supported by the manufacturers, according to James Hrabosky, BC3’s vice president for administration and finance. 14th Annual Ellwood City Octoberfest Scheduled For October 5th
