PHOTOS: McDade Delivers, Riverside Advances To PIAA Class-3A Championship Game

Junior Darren McDade broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday as Riverside rallied again to collect a 8-5 victory over Punxsutawney in the Class-3A PIAA semifinals at Jack Critchfield Park on the campus of Slippery Rock University. Mayor Anthony J. Court announced the 1st Beautification Award winner for 2023 season – congratulations to Larry and Karen Krummert! It did not go unnoticed the hard work they put into their beautiful yard according to Mayor Court. Larry and Karen were presented with a gift certificate to a local restaurant and a yard sign to display. Ellwood City Historical Society Remembers Memorial Day 2023 In Ellwood City

as submitted by Mob Morabito, Ellwood City Area Historical Society At Ellwood City’s Legion Park on Memorial Day, the early morning twilight was just being breached by the first rays of the rising sun as the American flag was ceremoniously raised and lowered three times before being placed at the half-staff position. MAYOR: Speeding Enforcement In Borough

Mayor Anthony J. Court and the Ellwood City Police Department wants to announce that next week throughout the Borough of Ellwood City, Officers of the Ellwood City Police Department will again be conducting speeding enforcement. The department will be using their certified Enrad Laser speed timing device. Citations WILL BE issued for non-compliance. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: David Carter, 43, of Ellwood City is charged with Disorderly Conduct, Terroristic Threats, and Public Drunkenness after an incident on June 4th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 6:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on Franklin Avenue for a report of a male making threats. Upon arrival, police spoke with one of the victims who related a male, later identified as Carter, came across the street and started making threats. Lucarelli Strikes Out 11, Panthers Cruise By Fairview In PIAA Quarterfinals

Christian Lucarelli and the Riverside Panthers had everything working on Thursday, winning big over Fairview 9-3 at Jack Critchfield Park on the campus of Slippery Rock University. Lucarelli struck out 11 batters across his five innings of work while allowing only four hits and one earned run and the Panther offense came to life quicker in the quarterfinal victory. Calls for Entries in Midland Art Show

MIDLAND –Area artists are invited to submit up to three works, framed and ready to hang, to the 17th Midland Arts Council Summer Gallery. Entries are due on June 21 to the juried art show.
