BC3 Receives Largest Gift Of Kind Through Tax-Credit Program

(Butler, PA) The Butler County Community College Education Foundation has received the largest Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit contribution since its first in 2012 and from the Cranberry Township-based MSA Safety, an international developer and manufacturer of advanced safety products. MSA Safety’s $50,000 gift will support a BC3 program that enables sophomores through seniors to earn affordable and transferrable credits in college courses instructed at their high school or learning centers, and benefit a game played by pupils as young as fourth-graders that increases financial literacy. Riverside Lions Club Community Updates, New Leadership Announced

The Riverside Lions will have different leadership for the first time in FOURTEEN years.  Pictured below (left to right) are Lee Barnhart, incoming President, Kendra Gagilano, incoming 1st Vice President and outgoing president PDG Chip Campbell.  Although Lee has been a member for a short while, he is following in his Grandpap’s footsteps, Past-President Jim Westlund, who joined the club many years ago.  Before becoming a Lion Lee helped in every event we hosted, along with his Grandma Sue and his Mother Megan. Ellwood City Knocks Out Keystone Oaks 35-13 In WPIAL Class 2A First Round

Ellwood City scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter Friday night to knock out Keystone Oaks 35-13 in the opening round of the WPIAL Class 2A Playoffs. The receiving duo of Dom Hogue and DaiLonn Currie each posted impressive lines as the Wolverines offense went to the air to the tune of 36 pass attempts by Senior quarterback Tyler Smiley. Currie hauled in 11 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown while Hogue collected 10 catches for 148 yards and a score for the Ellwood City offense. 2020 LHS Graduate & Ellwood City Resident With 4.0 GPA Receives $1,500 Scholarship

(Butler, PA) The academic achievements of a 24-year-old Ellwood City resident and Butler County Community College student with a 4.0 grade-point average have been recognized with a $1,500 scholarship from the Pennsylvania Certified Public Accountant Foundation, Philadelphia. Sierra Strickler, a BC3 business administration student who intends to become a certified public accountant, is one of 91 recipients nationwide of financial awards from the nonprofit organization associated with the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs.
