Local State Representatives React To PA State $50.6B Budget Passes

Local state representatives in the Ellwood City area expressed differing opinions on the recently passed 2025-26 Pennsylvania state budget, with reactions generally falling along party lines. The budget, which faced a 135-day delay, was approved by the legislature on Wednesday. Moose Club Collecting Items For Community Food Drive, Hosting Sub Sale

The Ellwood City Moose Club will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Ellwood City Community Food Drive. The club will collect food items until November 14th and new/very lightly used coats until November 30th at the club for the Divine Grace Parish Winter Coat Drive. Ellwood City Moose Club is also hosting a sub sale fundraiser on Saturday, November 15th: 12″ American or Italian Subs $10 available starting 9:00 a.m. at four area locations (see attached picture)

POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On September 28th the Beaver Patrol Unit received a report that several vehicles were damaged at approximately 4:00 a.m with stones and tomatoes. The incident was reported to take place on and near Plumb Street in Darlington Borough. Magic Man Dr. Brad Brown To Highlight ECAHS Meeting On Monday

He can make a toothache disappear, but will be on on display at Ellwood City Historical Society on Monday, November 10th. Local Dentist, Dr. Bradley Brown, DDS, will demonstrate the magic that helped him get through Columbia University with a degree in Biochemistry and Dental School at the Ohio State University as a Doctor of Dental Surgery.
