The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is highlighting safe driving tips in conjunction with Winter Driving Awareness Week, which runs through January 15. As the region recently experienced its first snowfall, drivers should prepare their vehicles for the winter by checking fluid levels, lights, defrosters and windshield wiper blades, in addition to ensuring proper tire air pressure and adequate tread depth. Wilmington Greyhounds Defeat Trinity On Senior Night

The Wilmington hockey team defeated Trinity at Hess Ice Rink on Senior Night by a score of 7-6. The seniors class honored prior to the game were Ayden Leslie (Mohawk), Bo Leslie (Mohawk), Cody Williams (Ellwood), Dom Serafino (Wilmington), Drake Tomak (Ellwood), Josh Work (New Castle), Logan Popovich (Wilmington), and Tyler Girman (New Castle). Holy Redeemer Golf Bash Cancelled

According to a Facebook post made by the Ellwood City Wolves and Holy Redeemer, the Golf Bash that was originally scheduled to take place on January 16th has now been cancelled. After receiving a letter from Bishop David Zubick on the amount of rising COVID-19 cases in the area, the decision was made to cancel this in person event. Pennsylvania Farm Show To Be In Person This Year

TERRORISTIC THREATS: According to a criminal complaint, on December 24th Patrick McCloskey, 41, of Ellwood City, was charged with Terroristic Threats With Intent To Terrorize Another. At approximately 9:10 a.m., ECPD was requested by McCloskey’s mother to come to Crescent Avenue due to threats made by McCloskey towards her and her other son. It was learned by police of an active bench warrant for McCloskey’s arrest.
