The Ellwood City girls basketball team used a decisive third quarter to race away from rival Riverside Monday evening and pick-up a 60-31 RivEll Cup victory that secured a Class 3A playoff berth. Those who drive near the Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project are beginning to notice that construction of the new bridge over the Beaver River is now underway. The contractor is currently constructing new abutment footings and drilled shafts, pier footings and columns. BC3 To Expand Pioneer Pantry To Lawrence Crossing As Part Of $20K Grant

New Castle, PA — A Butler County Community College food security program for low-income students will receive a $20,000 grant that will in part expand a 4½-year-old main campus Pioneer Pantry to BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing and to other BC3 additional locations in Armstrong, Butler and Jefferson counties. Senior Joseph Roth poured in a career-high 51 points Friday Night but Ellwood City lost in a 82-77 shootout to the section-leading Mohawk Warriors. Just days after the boys basketball team defeated Neshannock, the Ellwood City girls basketball team went on the road and upset the section-leading Lady Lancers 67-60 Thursday night.
