Lois I. McCandless, 86, of Lowell, MI, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2016 at Green Acres of Lowell, MI. She was born in Ellwood City on April 28, 1929 to the late Clyde L. Brewer and the late Madge Anderson Brewer.  She married her husband of nearly 60 years, Alvin Dale McCandless in 1952.  He preceded her in death on June 2, 2011.  She was a registered nurse, having graduated from the Beaver Valley General Hospital nursing program and worked at the Ellwood City Hospital. Emmett S. Burns, Jr., 74, of Frisco, Ellwood City, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Ellwood City on August 29, 1941 to the late Emmett S. Warren Austin Michaels, 91, of Marion Township, Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, March 27, 2016 in Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle following a brief illness. He was born in Ellwood City on July 6, 1924 to the late Lewis Michaels and the late Cora Miller Michaels. He was born on Clover Avenue in Ellwood City on Sept. 30, 1922 to the late Arthur Norman Forbush and the late Mary C.
