Ellwood City United Fund to Release Funds Early

Connie MacDonald, president of the Ellwood City United Fund, announced on Tuesday, Nov. 10 to the United Fund Agencies that they would receive the last allotment of funds, totaling $25,000, two months early. United Funds’ money is normally released two times a year with the last allotment in January of the next year. The United Fund Board decided because of the budget impasse this would give the United Fund agencies some relief in providing services. Club Hope Talent Show this Friday

The annual Lincoln High School Club Hope talent show will be this Friday, Nov. 20 at the Lincoln High School Auditorium. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the show starts at 7 p.m. Cost is a $3 donation at the door. A bake sale will be available. All proceeds benefit Club Hope and the many wonderful things they are able to do for those battling cancer in our Ellwood City community. Please be as supportive as you possibly can! Ellwood City Christmas Parade set for Dec. 5

The annual Ellwood City Christmas Parade will march down Lawrence Ave. Dec. 5 at 3:30 p.m. Staging will take place in the Holy Redeemer School parking lot. Participants are encouraged to arrive before 2:45 and enter the lot at Crescent Ave. and Third St. Judging will take place during the parade. Wampum Light Up the Town and Parade

Wampum Light Up the Town will feature a fireworks display this year! Mimi and Jerry Davis have long been supporters of the Wampum community and decided to make a special contribution this year by paying for the display and pyrotechnics of New Castle. Registration for Wampum Christmas Parade Treat Bags

Registration for Wampum Christmas Parade treat bags from Santa begins today. The treat bags, which Santa gives to the children immediately following the annual Wampum Area Christmas parade, are free for Wampum area residents and cost $7 per bag for non-residents. You must register and pay for treat bags in advance at the Wampum Municipal Building on Main Street Extension. Christmas in the Park Volunteers Wanted

The behind the scenes work for Ellwood City’s”Christmas In the Park” is underway! Parent Meeting for Ellwood Winter Sports

Attention all parents of winter sports athletes: There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in the Lincoln High School Cafeteria at 7:30 PM. If your child plans to participate in any winter sport, a parent or guardian must be present.


Community Partnership Recognized for Service to United Fund

Connie MacDonald, president of the United Fund presented to Susann Bleakney a check for her support for the Community Partnership of Ellwood City. The United Fund, which assists local organizations who provide a variety of services to the public has offered their support to one of Lawrence Count agencies. The Community Partnership opened its doors to help bridge the gap between available services and those in need in our Ellwood City area. The Community Partnership located at 309 Fifth street is open Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5p.m.
