Christmas in the Park Volunteers Wanted

The behind the scenes work for Ellwood City’s”Christmas In the Park” is underway! Volunteers will be stringing lights and setting up displays in Ewing Park this Saturday, November 7, from 12:00pm-3:00pm. Parent Meeting for Ellwood Winter Sports

Attention all parents of winter sports athletes: There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in the Lincoln High School Cafeteria at 7:30 PM. If your child plans to participate in any winter sport, a parent or guardian must be present.


Community Partnership Recognized for Service to United Fund

Connie MacDonald, president of the United Fund presented to Susann Bleakney a check for her support for the Community Partnership of Ellwood City. The United Fund, which assists local organizations who provide a variety of services to the public has offered their support to one of Lawrence Count agencies. The Community Partnership opened its doors to help bridge the gap between available services and those in need in our Ellwood City area. The Community Partnership located at 309 Fifth street is open Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5p.m.


Author Uses Local Citizens as Inspiration for New Book Series

Local author Nancy K. Wallace’s second set of children’s theater books was published in September by ABDO Publishing Inc. and some of the themes and characters may seem familiar. The Ellwood City Lions Club honored Goldieann Bookamer as the October 2015 Student of the Month at their membership meeting Tuesday evening at the Connoquenessing Country Club. Goldieann is a senior at Lincoln High School and an honor student President of the National Honor Society. She has been involved in clubs and activities, but most of all she loves to run. PA Senate Sends Housing Trust Fund Expansion to Governor

HARRISBURG, PA – Pennsylvania’s state Senate on Tuesday sent legislation to expand the state housing trust fund to the governor for signature. “The Senate’s 47-1 vote coupled with the unanimous vote in the House reflects the broad bi-partisan commitment to a home within reach of all Pennsylvanians,” said Liz Hersh, executive director of the Housing Alliance of Pennsylvania.
