Mayor Presents Second Beautification Award

On Wednesday, Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Nicole and John McClaren of Evans Drive the second 2016 Beautification Award and gift certificate. The McClaren’s were very appreciative for the nomination of their home for this award, and Mayor Court thanked them for taking pride in their home and in their hometown of Ellwood City.    


Gibbons to Host Free Shredding Event this Saturday

BEAVER FALLS, June 14 – State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, is hosting a free shredding event for the community to destroy unneeded confidential documents. Gibbons Invites Public to Town Hall Meeting 6 p.m. Thursday

NEW BRIGHTON, June 13 – State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence, will host a sixth town hall meeting to update residents on local community events and important state government-related issues. Court has presented to area residents a special “Beautification Award” sign and an area restaurant gift certificate to nominees for the way they present their gardening talents and take special care of how their properties look during the summer growing season. Color Center Hosts “Father’s Day Decoupage”

In need of a Father’s Day gift? Register for Color Center’s “Father’s Day Decoupage,” and transform three wooden blocks into a timeless 3D collage. The event will be held Saturday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. To participate, register at the Color Center by June 15. The cost is $15. Guests are asked to submit 9-12 pictures (recommended at least three pictures per block). Pictures will be copied, resized and edited to give an aged appearance. Bernstine Opens Headquarters, Plans Open House

State House candidate Aaron Bernstine will hold an open-house at his new campaign headquarters in Ellwood City Wednesday, June 15, inviting the general public. Wampum Area Business Association Presents the Allegheny Drifters

There will be a free concert at the Wampum gazebo on Sunday, June 12 starting at 7 p.m. The Allegheny Drifters, a bluegrass band, will perform. The event is organized by the Wampum Area Business Association. The concert will be held in the L. Butler Hennon Gymnasium in the event of rain.
