Local Church Holds Live Auction and Pasta Dinner to Raise Scholarship Funds

ELLWOOD CITY, PA (Oct. 11, 2016) — North Sewickley Presbyterian Church, located at 106 Chapel Drive in North Sewickley Township, will host a pasta dinner and live auction fundraiser on Saturday, October 22, at 6 p.m., in their downstairs fellowship hall. The church is located across from Old Stonewall Golf Course and Shakespeare’s Restaurant. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund for the church’s annual family retreat. The Ellwood City United Fund is announcing that it’s annual Fund Campaign will start on October 1, 2016 and end December 31, 2016. The United Fund has set a goal of $50,000.00 for the coming year of 2017. “Open Street” Event

Ellwood City’s Kitchen Cabinet is hosting an “Open Street” event ahead of the annual Halloween Parade on Oct. 29 from 1p-3p (Parade begins 3:30). For those of you not familiar with an Open Street, designated streets are closed for a period of time so that people can experience the business district from a different perspective – on their bikes, with baby strollers, wagons, skates, skateboards any mode of wheels not fuel or electric powered. We would like to remind residents of the upcoming Yard Waste Pick up Days that will take place in the upcoming weeks. Yard Waste will take place the week of October 16th –October 22nd and the week of October 30th through November 4th. Veterans’ Specialists to Visit Gibbons’ Office Next Week

ELLWOOD CITY, Oct. 3 – To assist veterans and their families, state Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence,  announced today he will be hosting veterans’ specialists in his Ellwood City office. Ellwood City’s Lincoln High School will be hosting their annual Powderpuff game tonight at Helling Stadium. Freshmen vs. Sophmore will start at 6p.m. and Juniors vs. Seniors will start at 8p.m. Cost of admission is $3.00 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.
