Veterans’ Specialists to Visit Gibbons’ Office Next Week

ELLWOOD CITY, Oct. 3 – To assist veterans and their families, state Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence,  announced today he will be hosting veterans’ specialists in his Ellwood City office. Gibbons said Stephanie Bengoa and Ryan Paglia will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at his Ellwood City office, located at 438 Line Ave., to lend help to veterans and their families. Ellwood City’s Powderpuff Game Tonight

Ellwood City’s Lincoln High School will be hosting their annual Powderpuff game tonight at Helling Stadium. Freshmen vs. Sophmore will start at 6p.m. and Juniors vs. Seniors will start at 8p.m. Cost of admission is $3.00 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.


Recent Transmission and Capacity Charges

The attached information is being provided in order to inform Ellwood City Electric customers of the effect the reduction in the Transmission and Capacity charges set by PJM has had upon the Rate Adjustment (PPA Factor) and customer billings during the months of August, September and October.  A comparison of PPA components (Energy Purchased, American Municipal Power-Power Charges, as well as Transmission and Capacity Charges) were used. The Rate Adjustment is added to the electric bill of each user, Residential, Commercial and Industrial. The Rate Adjustment for August of 2015 was 3.10 cents per kWh compared to1.80 cents per kWh…


Wurtemburg United Methodist Church Soup Supper

Wurtemburg United Methodist Church (1244 Portersville Road  (Rt 488 by 3rd bridge) Ellwood City, PA  16117) will be having their “Second Saturday” Soup Supper on October 8th from 4p.m. to 6:30p.m. Soup flavors will be stuffed pepper and beef veggie. The meal includes soup,  Italian bread, homemade rolls, dessert, beverages & refills. Grilled cheese sandwiches will be available for $1.00 and quarts of soup are $6.00. Gibbons Hosting Annual Senior Fair this Wednesday

ELLWOOD CITY, Oct. 3 – State Rep. Ellwood’s Homecoming Game Recap and Gallery Photos

Eastern Star Soup Supper

The Eastern Star Soup Supper will be held October 7 from 11:30a.m. and 6:30p.m at the Christ Presbyterian Church 4th Street and Spring Avenue. Flavors of the served soups will be beef vegetable and chicken noodle; dinner consists of all you can eat soup, bread, pie, and drink. Adult tickets are $7 and children ages 4-12 are $5. Children 3 and under get in for free. Take-out will be available and sold by the quart for $5.00. Funds raised will be used for charitable donation which are made by the Chapter.    


7th Annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest

The 7th annual Ellwood City Oktoberfest is on Saturday, October 7th from 12:00p.m. – 5:30p.m. in Ewing Park, rain or shine. The event is geared toward an adult crowd and will feature food, beer samples, live music, prizes, and a Cornhole tournament. Craft beer will be presented by Pete’s Uptown Beer & Beverage and a dozen or more home brews will be available for sampling.
