Art on the Avenue: Celebration of the Arts

The library is hosting an Art on the Avenue: Celebration of the Arts event on Friday, July 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. This is the library’s second annual Celebration of the Arts; last year, they hosted a wonderful author fair with 250 people in attendance. This year’s event will be very similar in nature; 28 local artists will be participating and will be placed around the library in an easy-for-folks-to-browse style. Dealerships Offer Chance at Jobs While Students Pursue Program

Butler, PA – Students who enroll in Butler County Community College’s auto technician certificate program now have the opportunity to work at one of four nearby new-car stores while pursuing the nine-month course and upon graduation, find a job that eventually pays $30 per hour or more, a dealership administrator said. Senator Vogel to Host Veterans’ Specialist at New Castle District Office

Senator Vogel announced today that he will host a veterans’ specialist in his New Castle District Office to assist constituents with various issues related to their military service. A representative of the American Legion Veterans Assistance Program will be available on Wednesday, July 19 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Senator Vogel’s New Castle Office (1905 W State St. New Castle). BC3 Welding Certificate Program to Test Students’ Mettle

Grad “struggled” in difficult course, now builds nuclear-powered warships for Navy (Butler, PA) – Like the fighter pilots landing jets on the Navy aircraft carriers he helps to build, welding isn’t easy, Ty Bowman says, and takes skill. PA American Water Hosts Meeting for New Water Treatment Plant Construction Project

Pennsylvania American Water announced today that the company will be hosting an informational meeting regarding the construction of a new water treatment in Wayne Township, Lawrence County, on July 20, 2017, at the Chewton Fire Hall located at 196 Alice Street, in Wampum, Pa. Traveling Baseball Team Conducts Ewing Park Clean Up

Below is a photo of the Jeff Potter Baseball Tour. They are a traveling Baseball team that travels throughout PA, Maryland and West Virginia doing community service and playing baseball games for different communities. Jeff Potter is originally from Ellport Borough and was an exceptional Baseball Player. Today the Potter Traveling team conducted a clean up at the Ewing Park Nature Trail followed by lunch and drinks compliments from Red Hot, McDonald’s, and Johnny’s Pizza. They will play at Sanders Field tonight at 6pm and then travel throughout different parts of Pennsylvania before heading back to Maryland. Submitted photo

America’s Night Out Against Crime

On Tuesday, August 1st, neighborhoods throughout Ellwood City are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “34th Annual Night Out” (NNO) crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce, will involve over 16,500 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases around the world. Stiefel Hockey Player Jon Sedgwick Plays Last Game Before Basic Training

Firing Squad 9, Marauders 4 Jake Krummert collected a hat trick and his brother Ben 4 points in the win for Firing Squad. Ryan Bartolomeo scored twice to lead the Marauders.  Good luck and thank you to Firing Squad’s Jon Sedgwick who added 3 points in his final game of the session before departing for basic training. Unrehearsed Shakespeare in March Park

It’s a midsummer’s night dream.  An open air performance of scenes from Shakespeare play will be held in March Park (next to the Library) on Tuesday July 11th 6:30pm. The Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls in partnership with The New Renaissance Theatre Company presents The Unrehearsed Shakespeare Project’s.  Directed by Elizabeth Ruelas and some the actors will be preforming using the unrehearsed cue script technique. BC3 Unveils Courses that Aim to Improve Handgun Safety, Marksmanship
