Frederick R. Hartwell, 84, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 6, 2020 at his residence. Born September 29, 1935 in Greenfield, MA, he was the son of the late Harry D. and Elizabeth C. (Bridges) Hartwell. Fred was formerly employed at Harvey Aluminum and Martin Metals and Alloys. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. Fred enjoyed being with friends and playing pool. He was generous in life and enjoyed taking care of family and friends. Florence Marshall Hazen, 93, formerly of Ellwood City passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Jameson Care Center following a lengthy illness. Born September 11, 1926 in Portersville, she was the daughter of the late William and Alta Vivian Rosser. Florence graduated from Portersville High School and Geneva College. She taught at Wayne Twp. Gale Arthur Tillia, 86, of Shenango Twp., New Castle passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford following a lengthy illness. He was born December 11, 1933 in his home in Shenango Twp. Gale was the son of the late Eugene and Hazel (Reno) Tillia. Gale worked for 20 years at Babcock and Wilcox as a crane operator. Dennis L. Graham, 72, of Shenango Twp, New Castle passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at UPMC Jameson Hospital following a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. Born January 6, 1948 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Loron and Lillian (Reynolds) Graham. Denny was a graduate of Lincoln High School.
