Janet L. Carpenter, 70, of New Castle, PA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 13, 2020 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. She was born August 5, 1949 in Morgantown, WV to the late Delbert and Bonnie (Rea) Carpenter. Janet was a member of various churches throughout her lifetime. She was always involved with the church and always made contributions to her church community. She enjoyed listening to prayer lines and reading her Bible. James G. Boots Sr., 75, of North Sewickley Twp., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at his residence. Born July 17, 1945 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Eleanor Koach Boots. He was married to the love of his life, Susan Hammerle Boots for 50 years, she survives. Jim was a 1965 graduate of Riverside High School. An accomplished athlete, he set Riverside’s long jump record and held it for over 37 years. Alice Mae Ecenrode, 93, formerly of Wampum passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Avalon Place in New Castle. Born November 4, 1926 in Keeley, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Grace Lutz Hairhoger. Alice Mae was a graduate of Wampum High School. She worked as a clerk at the former Leonetti’s in Wampum and Lawson’s Grocery Store in Ellwood City. She was an active member and Deacon of the Wampum Presbyterian Church. Larry Edward “Ziggy” Zeigler, 67, of West Pittsburg passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness. Born February 20, 1953 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Dale R. and Helen L. (Baucom) Zeigler. Larry retired from Reactive Metals in West Pittsburg. A Veteran, Larry served for 9 years in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Chewton Christian Church. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish, and camp. Leita Raney Martin, 94 of Enon Valley went to her heavenly home July 20, 2020 after a brief illness at Avalon Care Center in West Pittsburg. She was born August 10, 1925 to Guy and Anice Sanders Raney. She was married to the late George Martin who passed on January 27, 2016. Leita was a graduate of Mount Jackson High School. Dr. Donald Elliott Hall, 81, of Wadsworth Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2020 at The Sanctuary Wadsworth following a long battle with vascular dementia. Born on May 5, 1939, in Ellwood City, PA, Don was the second of four children born to Charles R. and Virginia E Brooks Hall. Don graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957.
