Donald R. Sapp, 85

Donald R. Sapp 85, went peacefully at home to be with the Lord on Monday July 20, 2020.

He was born on February 18, 1935 in Fairmont WV, to the late Sherman and Zelda Sapp. He married the late Mary Jane Wollen in Koppel on October 5, 1958 and had a happy marriage for 55 years.

Donald graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1953. He was a USAF Veteran where he was an A/C engine mechanic. Donald worked for B&W for 34 years. 29 in the East Works Plant and 5 years at the Koppel Plant. Donald was a permanent resident of Koppel since 1958; a former member of the Koppel Volunteer Fire Department; a former Scout Master of Troop 492 of Koppel; an active member of Koppel Sportsman Club. Donald also served on the Koppel City Council for 20 years and was the mayor at one time. Donald loved the Lord and was an active and faithful member of Valley Baptist Church and Fernwood Christian Camp. He volunteered 27 years to have church services at Providence Care Home in Beaver Falls, PA. He loved his faithful dog (Sergeant), fishing, hunting, gardening, and beekeeping (18 hives), but loved serving the Lord and sharing his faith even more.

He is survived by three children; Sherry Sapp, Koppel; Scott Sapp, New Jersey; and Donald W. Sapp, Koppel; five grandchildren,Shasta Dawn Sapp, Jessica Leigh Dickson, Kara Lynn Sontag, Hannah Louise Sapp, Charles Everett Sapp; and two great grandchildren; Langston Kennedy, and Kori Williams.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and an infant daughter Carol Lynn Sapp.

Due to the COVID 19 virus, the family has postponed all visitation and services at this time. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
