For those who knew him, he lived his life curious, adventurous, brave, funny, hard-working, passionate, generous, and loving. Al C. Kocher, 85, of Ellwood City passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Shenango On the Green after a brief illness. Born August 13, 1938 in Beaver Falls he was the son of the late Harry A. and Helen Groscost Kocher. Al graduated from Ellwood City Lincoln High School in 1956 and from Geneva College where he earned his B.S. degree. Catherine was born in Philadelphia on October 10, 1934, the daughter of the late Kathryn and Joseph Klemenz. Louise E. Newman, 86, of North Sewickley Township passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home. Born September 13, 1937 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ruth Hazen Lersch. Louise graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955, and then off to nursing school at St. Francis in New Castle. During her working career, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Jameson Hospital and Ellwood City Hospital. In addition, Louise was a maternity ward nurse at Mary Evans Hospital.
