PHOTOS: Roth Sets Career Scoring Mark, Wolverines Beat Riverside 73-45

Joseph Roth is now the all-time leading scorer in Ellwood City boys basketball history. The senior knocked down a free throw midway through the second quarter that gave him 1,939 career points, breaking the career scoring record previously held by Dan Aloi. Roth finished with 18 points in the 73-45 rivalry victory over Riverside Friday night. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT: On January 17th, at approximately 7:32 a.m., police investigated the report of theft in Perry Township. Police discovered that one or more unidentified people broke into unlocked vehicles, according to criminal complaint. No one has yet to be charged. HARASS PHYSICAL CONTACT: On February 5th, at approximately 2:48p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance on McCartney Hollow Rd. Riverside Bocce Team Qualifies For Playoffs

The Riverside Unified Bocce Team has qualified for the North Division Playoffs. The team finished 3-1 on the regular season and will travel to Ellwood City on Tuesday, February 20 at 3:30PM for a playoff match-up against Beaver Falls. The Panthers, who are part of the Three Rivers Region of Unified Bocce and in the Beaver North Division, are led by three returning players, James Hogue, Kortnee Bond, and Kiersten Kanzleiter, and is under the direction of head coach Michael Walmsley. Community Baby Shower To Be Hosted By Divine Grace Parish

A FREE community baby shower will be hosted by Divine Grace Parish (Holy Redeemer) in April. The shower is taking place on Sunday, April 14th at St Ferdinand Church in Cranberry Township. Playoff Bound Lady Wolverines Knock Off Beaver Falls 46-40

The playoff-bound Lady Wolverines knocked off Beaver Falls 46-40 Monday evening during its senior night game. Ellwood City pulled away in the second half after trailing at halftime. Kayla Jones scored a team-high 15 points, including 9-16 free throws. The junior connected on 7-10 free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Wolverines secure the crucial section victory. Fellow junior Delaney Sturgeon scored 13 points and connected on three 3-pointers in the victory. Senior Claire Noble finished with seven points. Ellwood City Family Center Offering Six-Week Indoor Soccer Session
