Riverside Defeats Shenango 7-1, Oliastro Collects 700th Career Victory

Riverside Panthers coach Dan Oliastro collected his 700th career coaching victory as the Panthers defeated Shenango 7-1 on the road Monday afternoon. Darren McDade finished with four RBIs to lead the Panthers offense and batterymate Christian Lucarelli collected the win on the mound. McDade smacked a bases clearing double in the third inning to break open the 1-0 contest and walked in the sixth inning to bring home yet another run for Riverside. Mayor Court Proclaims Joseph Connor Roth Day

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed April 4, 2024 as Joseph Connor Roth day in the Borough of Ellwood City. Roth was recognized as being the all-time leading scorer in Ellwood City Boys’ Basketball with 2,109 points in his career. He was a four year starter and helped Ellwood City win the WPIAL Class-3A title in the 2020-21 season. His point total placed him 5th overall in Lawrence County all-time scoring and in the top 30 All-time in the WPIAL. VIDEO: North Sewickley Township Flooding

In a video made available Wednesday by Manns Woodland Perspective, portions of North Sewickley Township are shown under water as the recent rain event led to high water levels and flooding of the Connoquenessing Creek. The creek reached recorded gage heights as high as 15.23 ft, recorded at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Many state and local roadways were closed and continued to be closed due to the flooding.

A four run fourth inning proved pivitol on Wednesday as Ellwood City defeated Quaker Valley 5-3 at Jack Critchfield Park on the campus of Slippery Rock University. Ryan Widmaier sparked the four run rally with a two-run double to help the Wolverines pull ahead. Otto Robert Fox, born March 20, 2024, passed away peacefully in his parents’ arms on March 27, 2024. The perfect blend of his dad and mom, Alexander Robert Fox and Hayley Rose Sandgren Fox, Otto was a beautiful boy, measuring 22 inches at birth and approximately 9lbs.
