EC Varsity Softball Team Beats Keystone Oaks In 9 Innings

After a tough loss to Avonworth in which both the defense and offense struggled, the Lady Wolverines put together their most balanced team effort Saturday afternoon at Keystone Oaks to secure a 5-4 extra inning victory over the Golden Eagles. The pitching was solid, seven different players banged out 17 hits, and the defense turned in their best performance on the young season by committing just one error. Wolverines Junior High Softball Holds On For Victory; Varsity Baseball Defeated By Vikings

The Ellwood City junior high softball team was able to stave off a 10-run fourth inning and subsequent rallying attempts by Beaver to preserve a 13-12 victory on Friday at Beaver. The Wolverines jumped out to an early 8-0 lead but saw the host Bobcats post a 10-run fourth inning to take its first lead of the ballgame. EC Boys Tennis Wraps Up Season With Victory; EC Softball Suffers First Defeat

The Ellwood City boys tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a victory Thursday afternoon while the Wolverines softball team suffered its first defeat of its regular season earlier in the week.  Also, the Riverside Panthers baseball team cruised to a 22-0 victory over Summit Academy. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

HIT & RUN: PA State Police responded to a report of a hit/run crash on April 8th at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Wurtemburg Road, Wayne Township. According to the police report, the complainant claimed that he observed fresh damage to the property owner’s yard and a damaged/dirt covered vehicle, a 2000 Jaguar S-Type, in a nearby church parking lot. Upon arrival to the scene, contact was made with the owner of the vehicle who was currently attempting to have the vehicle towed. Franklin Township Announces Drive-Thru Recycling Collection

Be responsible today for a better future tomorrow by responsibly recycling your household hazardous and electronic waste. Franklin Township has announced an upcoming drive-thru recycling collection event scheduled to take place Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event is available for the ENTIRE PUBLIC, not just Franklin Township residents. Wolves Club Meets, Recognizes Efforts In Sign Replacement

The Ellwood City Wolves Club met on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 and recognized the efforts of the Ellwood City Borough, Ellwood City Lions, Ellwood City Rotary and the Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II in replacing the old “Welcome to Ellwood City” sign located at the intersection of RT 288 and Route 65. The clubs raised funds to replace the sign. They had been working on the project for three years and raised $18,200 to make it possible. Beaver County Announces 2022 Hazardous Waste Collection Date

Safely dispose of common household chemicals and take advantage of the Beaver County Hazardous Waste Collection event that is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2022.
