WOLVERINES BOY GOLF TEAM NARROWLY MISSES CUT IN WPIAL SEMIFINALS The Ellwood City boys golf team narrowly missed the cut in the WPIAL semifinals Tuesday at Pleasant Valley GC in Connellsville. The Wolverines compiled a team score of 425 to finish fourth overall. The top three teams advanced to the WPIAL Class 2A Championships on Thursday. Composting & Rain Barrel Workshop Planned

The Lawrence County Conservation District and the Lawrence-Mercer Recycling/Solid Waste Department are partnering on a workshop about about rain barrels, stormwater management, backyard composting, rain gardens and more! BC3 Earns WPCC Golf Championship, Covert Places Second

Butler County Community College men’s golfers Friday won the program’s fourth consecutive team title, the Pioneers’ Jacob Marquardt captured BC3’s fourth individual crown in a row and Lincoln High School graduate Mitchell Covert finished second only after edging the 2023 champion in a sudden-death playoff following regulation play in the postseason tournament. Ellwood Area Family Center Hosting Youth Basketball Clinics

The Ellwood Area Family Center will be hosting two youth basketball clinics beginning mid-October. The basketball sessions will be held at the Ellwood Area Family Center on the North Side of Ellwood City on Tuesday evenings beginning on October 15th.  The clinic will run four five consecutive Tuesdays and will be available for Grades 3-4 and Grades 5-6.  The clinic will be coach by Bob Rak. Annual Richard Hogue Memorial Blood Drive Scheduled For November 9th

The annual Richard Hogue Memorial Blood Drive has been announced and scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024. Hogue was only 28 when his life was taken on November 16, 2013. At the time of his death, he resided in Enon Valley, worked for Nick Mars Construction as a carpenter, and was a member of the Ellwood City Eagles Club. Wolverines Best Western Beaver 26-20 In Section Showdown

In a clash of conference unbeatens, Ellwood City bested Western Beaver 26-20 on the road Saturday to remain unbeaten. The win gives the Wolverines sole possession of first place in the Midwestern Conference. On Saturday, the Ellwood City offensive ground attack churned out 234 yards rushing while the Wolverine defense was opportunistic in stopping Western Beaver four times on fourth down conversion attempts. Janis, Gaydosz Help Panthers Earn 14-0 Victory Over Freedom

Robbie Janis rushed for 113 yards and Aiden Gaydosz threw for 129 yards to lead Riverside to a 14-0 victory over Freedom in MAC Conference play Friday night. Keller Qualifies For PIAA Championships, Wolverines Eye WPIAL Team Semifinals

Jordan Keller competed in the WPIAL Class 2A Golf Finals Wednesday at Sewickley Heights Country Club, qualifying for the PIAA Championships with a two-day total of 160 (+16), good enough for T-15 overall among the 38 golfers. Keller became just the 2nd Ellwood City golfer in the last 30 year to qualify for the PIAA Golf Championships in State College. Keller advanced to the championships after his performance last week.
