Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of March 13, 2017

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following: Monday, March 13, at 6:30 p.m. – Classics Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “Intruder in the Dust,” by William Faulkner. New members are welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information. Ellwood City Area Historical Society Regular Monthly Meeting

The regular monthly membership meeting of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society will meet 6:30 p.m., Monday March 13 at the History Center, 310 fifth Street, Ellwood City. Members and guests are asked to bring in items for “Show and Tell”.  This could include artifacts, photos and etc. from the Ellwood City area.  They can tell about the item, or ask what it is, where was it and similar questions. Man Charged With Disarming Officer

According to the police report filed March 5, Perry Russel Malcom, 34, of Beaver Falls, will be facing a felony charge of disarming law enforcement, a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, and an infraction charge of disorderly conduct after an incident involving a parking ticket escalated. At approximately 5:51 p.m. an officer was requested to respond to the rear of the Ellwood City Police Department to speak with Malcom regarding a parking ticket he received earlier in the day. It was a battle of the unbeaten in the Ellwood City Adult Basketball League Sunday evening as Big Fun and Turncoats headlined the main event at the Family Center. Big Fun; the defending League Champions, rolled into the night’s action at 3-0 rocking the NWO Wolfpac black and red colors.
