5th Beautification Award Winner Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented the 5th winner of the “Beautification Awards” to Kevin and Delana Shaffer. “Excellent work and lots of dedication went into this property at 904 Plymouth Lane,” said Mayor Court in an emailed statement. Mayor Court presented the Shaffer’s with a dinner certificate and a yard sign. Mayor Court also state because of the high volume of nominations he has received, he is expanding the awards this year from the usual six to eight. BC3 Announces President’s List, Dean’s List and Graduates For Spring 2024

Butler County Community College is proud to announce the names of students who have made the President’s List and Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester, as well as the names of those who have graduated recently. Students who have achieved a cumulative GPA (grade-point average) of 3.75 or higher are named to the President’s List following completion of at least 12 semester hours or upon completion of degree requirements. 4th Beautification Award Winner of 2024 Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court recently awarded the 4th winner of the annual beautification awards to Todd and Lori Streit of 924 Bridge Street. “Beautifully Landscaped and very well maintained,” said Mayor Court in an emailed statement. Todd and Lori was presented with a gift certificate from a local restaurant and a yard sign to display. Nominations are still being taken by Mayor Court by calling him at 724-824-7629 or dropping it off at his office in the Municipal Building. 4th Annual Dog Days Of Summer Returns Next Weekend

Woof, woof! The fourth annual Reed’s Services Dog Days of Summer event will take place next weekend in Ewing Park. The multi-day event is scheduled to take place 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21st and Saturday, June 22nd, and from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23rd. The event is rain or shine, pet friendly, and will benefit police K9 unites in Lawrence and Beaver counties. Ellwood City Sports Physicals To Be Held On June 13th

According to information made available by the district, Ellwood City Sports Physicals for the 2024-25 school year will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the High School Nurse’s office. Any student in grades 7-12 that are interested must pre-register in the Principal’s office by Wednesday. Forms must be completed and payment must be made before an appointment time is given. Cost of the Physical is $20.00.  This is the only date that physicals will be offered by the school. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

DRIVING WITHOUT LICENSE: Trent Sirak, 21, of Ellwood City is charged with Driving without a license after an incident on May 21st. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers were patrolling and had noticed a green quad traveling at high speeds. Police followed with sirens and lights, but the operator fled. Police then spoke to Abigail Naher who related that Sirak had been operating a green quad recently. The North Side Primary school hosted a Lemonade Stand that was run by 2nd Grade Entrepreneurs last week. As part of the educational day, five different stations helped all students learned how to work for themselves. Students were able to practice and demonstrate soft skills such as communicating, collaborating, co-operation, being adaptable, time management and other interpersonal skills according to Debbie Weich, North Side Primary School counselor.
