2025 Halloween Costume Contest Winners Announced

Congratulations to the two top place prize winners of the 2025 EllwoodCity.org Halloween Costume Contest!! The grand prize winner of the EllwoodCity.org contest was 2-year-old Cole Kloos who dressed as a monkey in a claw machine and gained over 400 Likes to earn the first place cash prize. Our second place winner was brothers Bryce and Cayden Mlye who dressed up 1990’s wrestling stars Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage to earn 375 Likes for our second place finish. Twenty-four submitted costume photos were entered into the contest that ran for a week after Halloween on our Facebook.com Page….

Wolverines/Panthers Basketball Games Cancelled Tuesday

A hot start by the Wolverines boys basketball team continued after picking up its third victory of the regular season Monday with a 67-64 victory over Laurel, but now winter weather has now forced cancellations of their game Tuesday. According to Lincoln High School, there will be no JV or Varsity basketball games Tuesday night. The originally scheduled game against Western Beaver has been cancelled. ROUNDBALL: Local Teams Tip Off Regular Season

The 1-2 punch of Kaleb Servick and Aaron Lake brought home two victories for the Wolverines boys basketball team and earned each MVP recognition in the Ellwood City Tip-Off Classic over the holiday weekend. The duo combined for 45 points on Friday as Ellwood City routed Rochester 81-39. Servick scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the first half and finished 10-12 shooting. Lake earned a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Servick led all scorers on Saturday with 24 points as the Wolverines defeated Union 51-31. Wampum, Ellwood City Each Hosting Upcoming Light Up Night Festivities

Kick off December with a series of events inspired to get visitors in the holiday spirit. POLICE: HIDTA Operation DTO Dismantle Results In One Arrest

DEA Pittsburgh District Office Group 66, Lawrence County HIDTA and the FBI North Country Taskforce targeted the narcotics operation of the Rodney MADISON Drug Trafficking Organization. Intelligence information revealed the MADISON’s DTO has distributed Fentanyl (powder and counterfeit pills), powder Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, and Methamphetamine in western Pennsylvania over the last 6-12 months. On November 25, 2025, personnel from DEA Group 66, the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force, FBI North County Task Force, Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, and the New Castle Police Department executed Search Warrants on target locations within the City of New Castle.
