The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. PHOTOS: Wolverines Lose To Aliquippa On Senior Night

The Ellwood City boys basketball team was defeated 67-52 by Aliquippa at home Friday evening as part of its senior night. Kaleb Servick scored a game-high 19 points while Aaron Lake delivered a double-double (10 points, 15 reboounds) in defeat. Aliquippa (13-5 Overall, 9-2 Class 3A-1) raced out to an early 19-9 lead and 34-21 lead at halftime. Javarri Carter finished with a team-high 17 points for the Quips. PHOTOS: Lady Wolverines Fall To Quaker Valley On Senior Night

The Lady Wolverines fell 58-25 to Quaker Valley on Thursday night at Lincoln High School on its senior night. Sophomore Jadyn Allwine led all Ellwood City scorers with seven points. Teegan Patterson and senior Ava Lucarelli each scored six points in defeat. Mimi Thiero poured in a game-high 20 points for Quaker Valley (15-6 Overall, 12-2 Class 3A-1) who led 30-14 at halftime. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT: Gary Weir, 41, of Sharon is charged with Theft after an incident on November 21, 2025. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:00 p.m., a female victim reported several items of her personal property were stolen from her residence on Wayne Avenue. The victim explain her residence had caught fire and she was staying in a hotel but related that a shed on the property had an older model Kawaski ATV, a bicycle, and other miscellaneous items. Lady Panthers Clinch Playoff Berth Behind A Pair Of Emmas

The Riverside girls basketball team has clinched a playoff berth and wrapped up its regular season Thursday with a 52-13 victory over New Brighton. A pair of Emmas will now lead the charge for the Lady Panthers as they forge their way in to the WPIAL Class 3A Playoffs. “Emma Meyer is a tireless worker and Emma Stockman just comes up big game after game,” says first year head coach John Fruehstorfer. Riverside Lions Club Community Updates

The Riverside Lions Club continues its community support through various programs and donations. The club offers a series of updates below spotlighting their recent efforts: To start things off the club made a donation to the Ellwood City Library Used Book Sale in the form of gift certificates to be given to any teacher asking for them. The club passed out 80 certificates for the sale. This is the third year we’ve supported the book drive. Increasing the certificate amount each year. Ellwood City Girls Softball League Hosting Sign-Ups Beginning On Saturday

The Ellwood City Girls Softball League will be hosting sign ups on Saturday, January 31st and Saturday, February 7th from 10:00 a.m. to noon and Tuesday, February 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The location of the sign-ups will be the Ellwood City McDonald’s.
