Yesterday, House Bill 2030, which modifies the Ellwood City borough electric department, passed in a 106-89 vote. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine, R-10, New Beaver, will now pass to the state senate. The bill will prevent the borough from transferring funds from the electric department to the General Fund and includes additional provisions for consumer protection. The bill’s language limits its impact to boroughs providing electric to more than one county. The Gobbler’s Gallop turns a quarter century. The 25th annual Gobbler’s Gallop will take place on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 26, at Riverside High School’s Memorial Stadium. The 10K race will start at 9:00 a.m. sharp while the 5k race will be begin at 10:15 a.m.  The event also offers a 5k for walkers that will begin at 9:0 a.m. Registration will begin at the Riverside Kindergarten Center at 8:00 a.m. for 10k and 5k walkers.  All people must wear a mask during registration and at the start of the race but not while running.
