Mrs. Santina “Sunny” Cucunato, 93, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, October 6th, 2026 at the Greenery Center for Rehab and Nursing in Canonsburg.
Mrs. Cucunato was the daughter of the late Augusto and Martina “Martha” (Barsottini) Cruciani born on April 28th, 1933 in Ellwood City. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1951. Sunny worked at Dustproof Mattress Company and later for the Ellwood City Area Public Library as a clerk. She is a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church and the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers. She volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader for five years and enjoyed babysitting for her neighborhood children.
She is survived by her daughter Linda (Rick) Raman of Colorado, sons Anthony (Nora) Cucunato of Canonsburg and Richard “Rick” Cucunato of Tennessee, grandchildren Nicholas, Andrew, Sara, Martina, Todd, Ryan, and Daniel, nine great-grandchildren, and her sisters Dianna Woloszyn of Ellwood City and Joan Goins of Virginia.
Sunny was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank Cucunato whom she married on May 16th, 1953 and passed away on March 26th, 2012, sister Ida (Lou) Greco, and her brother-in-law Andrew Woloszyn.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will follow on Friday at Noon at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father Joe Freedy officiating. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Friday to form and honor guard.
