Fall Sports Q&A 2026: Part 3 Riverside Cheerleaders

This is part three of a four-part series featuring area athletes in fall 2026 sports.

The start of fall sports is upon us, so we took the opportunity catch up with the athletes of those teams to see what they are doing to prepare for the upcoming rivalries and to offer some perspective on the season ahead and their plans for the future.

Isla Connors

School you attend? Riverside High School

Sport? Cheerleading

Grade? 12

How many years have you have participated? 12

What do you feel is your biggest strength? I would say my biggest strength is either sidelines or stunting

Who do you feel is your biggest rivalry this upcoming season? I would say Ellwood

What has been your favorite memory been over the years? Cheering with my big sister and with my best friends

What is one thing that you have learned through your participation in sports that will carry with you through your life? I’ve learned that everything is not going to go the right way, but you will always work through it, and it will be okay in the end

What are your future plans after graduation? Attend CCBC to get my associate’s degree in nursing then eventually go back to get my bachelors

Do you plan to continue to play sports after high school? I do not plan to continue cheering after high school

Adriana Viscuso

School you attend? Riverside High School

Sport? Cheerleading

How many years have you have participated? 12

What do you feel is your biggest strength? My biggest strength is my ability to be a positive and supportive teammate.

What is your favorite part of it? Friends, family and Friday night lights

Who do you feel is your biggest rivalry this upcoming season? Elwood City

What has been your favorite memory been over the years? My favorite memory was being selected as co-captain and getting to cheer alongside all of my friends.

What is one thing that you have learned through your participation in sports that will carry with you through your life? One thing I will carry through my life from cheer is the importance of teamwork, dedication and hard work to accomplish any goals set before me.

What are your future plans after graduation? To attend college to study Early childhood and special education

Do you plan to continue to play sports after high school? No, I do not plan to continue playing sports after high school.

What do you feel is your biggest strength? I think my biggest strength is my basing in stunts

What is your favorite part of it? trying new stunts and throwing people in the air

Who do you feel is your biggest rivalry this upcoming season? Ellwood

What has been your favorite memory been over the years? My favorite memory is winning our first playoff game my sophomore year

What is one thing that you have learned through your participation in sports that will carry with you through your life? One thing I have learned is even if your frustrated yelling at your teammates never makes it better having good teamwork is very important

What are your future plans after graduation? I plan to go to college for 4 years to be a nurse

Do you plan to continue to play sports after high school? no
