Stavros G. Thomas, 75, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on Monday, July 27, 2026.
Stavros was born in McKeesport on November 4th, 1950 to the late Stavros George Thomas and Christina (Papoulis) Thomas. He attended Geneva College where he met his wife of 55 years, Nancy (Miller) Thomas who survives.
Stavros worked at Aetna Standard until it closed. He then became a math teacher and was employed by New Castle School District until his retirement in 2013. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of JW.org for many years.
Stavros’ favorite pastime was all things to do with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He enjoyed traveling to watch the Pirates play at many ballparks around the country including traveling to spring training each year. He also enjoyed working on house projects and feeding and watching the birds and other local wildlife at his home.
In addition to his wife Nancy, he is survived by his daughter Christine Muzzana (Mark) of Chippewa Township, son Joel Thomas (Cindy) of Chewton and his grandchildren Ayden, Paige, Ena, Tessa, Avah and Violet. He is also survived by his sister Sylvia Kruth (Bernie) of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his in-laws George and Edna Miller and an infant son.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 from 1:00 pm – 4:00pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..
