Irene Brown, 84, of Ellwood City, formerly of Burnstown, passed away at her residence on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Born in Ellwood City on July 11, 1941, Irene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Farkas Yhelka. She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Brown on August 15, 1987. She had worked as decorator at Elsy Lighting in Ellwood City. She was Catholic by Faith and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Irene is survived by her 3 daughters and their spouses, Beth and Robert Miller of West Pittsburg, Kimberly and Paul Miller of Rochester, NY and Georgia and David Beyer of Youngstown, OH, a sister, Katherine San Giorgio of Ellwood City, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Irene was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, 6 brothers, Michael, Joseph, John, George, Anthony and Jim Yhelka and 4 sisters, Julie Markle, Fran Kahn, Magdalene Hardisky and Helen Burke.
Private interment took place at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.
