The Borough of Ellwood City will see the new trash carts being delivered by Aiken Refuse in preparation of the July 1st commencement.
The new carts are black with a blue lid with the Ellwood City Wolverine and WE ARE EC! imprinted on the lid.
The pickup schedule will remain the same as in the past, and the residents of the Borough will not only see monthly savings, but improved services going forward according to new borough manager Jeff Foley.
Residents can purchase the blue garbage bags at Shop N Save, Pete’s Uptown, and at the Aiken Office on Wampum Avenue as the yellow bags will not be accepted after June 30, 2026.
Residents will see a $1.00 Monthly Service Charge, effective July 1, 2026, which will be used for a Fall Clean Up and we are working with Aiken Refuse to do a curb side clean up.
The last time this was offered to the Borough was 17 years ago according to Foley.
This curb side pickup will be a substantial benefit and convenience to our residents.
“We keep looking for ways to improve the services we provide to the residents of our Borough, and this is the beginning,” adds Foley in a statement.
