William “Bill” Shaffer, 78

William “Bill” Shaffer, 78, of Frisco, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at AHN Wexford Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Bill was the beloved husband of 56 years to Charlene, and a devoted father and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family. He was a steady presence, a source of strength, and someone whose love and guidance will be deeply missed.

Born December 15th, 1947 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Ada (Marziano) Smith and Theran Edward Shaffer. He dedicated many years of his life to working at Koppel Steel before retiring in 2014. He enjoyed going for walks and looking at cars in his free time. He was also a member of the Word Alive Church.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Charlene (LaRitz) Shaffer, his daughter, Erin (Skip) Volpe, his grandchildren, Allison Volpe and Angela (Matt) Rohe, and his granddog Chubs.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Tarquin “Tarq” (Beverley) Shaffer and Daniel J. (Jeanne) Shaffer, and his sister Elvera (Dan) Taormina.

A private viewing and service will be held for family and close friends, officiated by Pastors Cliff Reynolds, Matt Reynolds, and Gail Davis. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Bill will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strength, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him.
