It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and husband, William “Bill” Young, who was born on March 17, 1954, in Ellwood City.
He was the devoted son of the late John Young and Alberta (Sabatini) Young. On May 22, 1976, he married the love of his life, Elaine Waterfield, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, partnership, and unwavering love.
He dedicated over four decades of hard work to Ellwood City Forge, where he built not only a career but a reputation for dedication and integrity before enjoying his well-earned retirement.
He found his greatest joy outside of work—camping with his family, working on hot rods, and, most of all, spending cherished time with his two granddaughters, Skylyn and Emberlyn. Their bond was truly special, and he never ended a conversation with them without saying, “I love you more.” Those words will forever echo in their hearts.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Young of North Sewickley Township; his mother, Alberta Young of Ellwood City; his son, Michael (Sonia) Young of Bridgewater; and his adored granddaughters, Skylyn and Emberlyn Young. He is also survived by his sisters, Barb Vinroe, Kathy (Leland) Chandler, Roberta Young, and Joann Young; his niece, Allison (Ron) Templeton; his nephew, Lee Chandler; and his great-nieces and nephews, Silas, Owen, and Annie.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Young.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the compassionate staff at UPMC Passavant for their care, kindness, and empathy during this difficult time.
He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
