Jerry M. Spencer, 95

Mr. Jerry M. Spencer, 95, of Shenango Township passed away on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 at The Addison of Clen-Moore Place in New Castle.

Mr. Spencer was born the son of the late Samuel and Christine (Cangey) Spencer on September 11th, 1930 in Mahoning Town. Jerry had graduated from New Castle High School. He enlisted with the United States Navy on February 21st, 1952 and served on the USS Maloy until his honorable discharge on February 15th, 1956, and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He had worked briefly for the United States Postal Service, and later for the P & LE Railroad in McKees Rocks as a carpenter for 30 years. Jerry enjoyed walking daily and carpentry work at his home.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Jean (Pace) Spencer whom he married on June 21st, 1969, his niece, Allyson (John) Pace, and his nephew, Adam (Linda) Pace.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Phyllis Domenick and Gloria DiSanti, and brothers, Michael Spencer and William Spencer Sr..

Family and friends are invited to attend a mass of Christian burial on Monday at 11:00 am at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father James Wehner officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the cemetery on Monday by 11:50 am to conduct full military rites. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..
