POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

THEFT:
On July 1st at approximately 11:00 p.m. police were dispatched to New Galilee on a report of theft. The victim, 81, of New Galilee reported his pellet stove stolen, which was located in the basement of his residence, at a value of around $2,300.00 Investigation pending further according to the complaint.

RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY:
Theodore Yeagley, 49, of Beaver Falls, is charged with Receiving Stolen Property after an incident occurring on June 24th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:13 a.m., police were dispatched to State Route 18 on a report of theft. Police were informed that a “control wire” was taken from the victims property, and had video evidence of the item being taken. Officers learned that Yeagley had taken the scrap and sold it to a scrap yard, according to the complaint.

FRAUDULENT CHECK:
On September 3rd at approximately 4:55 p.m. police were contacted on a report of receiving a fraudulent check. Police were advised by the victim, 35, of New Castle that he received an $8,000.00 check that did not clear through his bank account. The investigation is on going according to the complaint.

HARASSMENT:
Trent Sirak, 22, of Ellwood City, is charged with simple harassment after an incident occurring on August 4th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 11:11 p.m., police were dispatched to The Beaver Valley Medical Center due to a report of assault involving Sirak and the victim, 40, of Zelienople. Officers observed the victim sustained multiple injuries due to Sirak’s assault according to the complaint.

HARASSMENT:
Tyler Frank, 42, of Ellwood City, is charged with harassment after an incident occurring on September 11th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 4:00 a.m., police were dispatched to Loop Street on a report of a domestic. When police arrived the front door was open and police observed Frank attacking the victim according to the complaint. The victim related to police that Frank arrived home just after midnight at began getting physical with her. The victim was found with red marks and welts and Frank is on the no-tresspass list for the property and has been arrested before.

POSSESSION:
James Grekon, 41, of New Galilee, is charged with possession of a controlled substance after an incident occurring on July 23rd at approximately 9:46 a.m. Police conducted a traffic stop on Grekon who had shown that he violated his intoxilyzer and advised that he had narcotics and controlled substances in his vehicle. Grekon was taken into custody and transferred to a nearby hospital for blood work, according to a criminal compliant.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY:
David Carter, 46, of Ellwood City, is charged with Institutional Vandalism after an incident occurring on September 5th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:54 p.m., police were dispatched to Vinny’s Restaurant on a report that Carter was behaving erratically and banging on the building. Police located Carter and observed him to be heavily intoxicated and agitated. Carter was placed into custody due to his behavior and public intoxication according to the complaint.

DUI:
Randy Patterson, 50, of New Kensington, is charged with DUI after an incident occurring on July 18th at approximately 8:09 a.m. Police conducted a traffic stop on Main Street, Wampum, after learning Patterson was currently DUI suspended and found Patterson to be intoxicated. Officers placed him into custody and was transferred to a nearby hospital for blood work according to a criminal complaint.

DUI:
Brett Philipp, 55, of Beaver Falls is charged with DUI after an incident occurring on August 22nd at approximately 2:26 a.m. Police conducted a traffic stop on State Route 18 in Wampum and had observed Philipp to be intoxicated. Officers conducted field sobriety tests for which Philipp failed and placed him into custody and transferred him to a nearby hospital for blood work, according to a criminal complaint.
