George R. “Butch” Kotuby, 78

George R. “Butch” Kotuby, 78 on North Sewickley Township passed away on June 26th, 2025 at the Pam Hospital at Heritage Valley in Beaver.

George was born on November 19th, 1946 in Ellwood City to the late George and Lola (Scheidemantle) Kotuby. He graduated from Riverside High School with the class of 1964, Throughout his entire life, George was a proud meat cutter. His first job was at his father’s store, “George’s Market” located in Ellwood City’s West End. He then continued on to Shop and Save which later became Foodland and remained there until its closing in 2005. Upon his retirement, George ended his meat cutting career at the Ellwood City Giant Eagle. He enjoyed men’s recreational softball and bowling in leagues at SIMS bowling alley in Koppel for many years. George will be remembered for being a people person and that his family was his world, he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Weller of North Sewickley Township, grandchildren, George, Sarah, Katelyn and Lindsey, great-grandchildren, Morgan, Zachary, and Zander Weller and Aubrey Lehemy, sister, Lana (Mario) Morini of Wayne Township, brothers, Charles Kotuby Sr., of Perry Township, Don (Darlene) Kotuby of New Wilmington, and Andrew Kotuby of North Sewickley Township, sisters-in-law, Sue (Dennis) Smith of Freedom and Linda Garen of TX, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol L. (Reeder) Kotuby whom he married on July 15th, 1967 and passed away on January 5th, 2018, and daughter, Kristine S. Rogers in 2022.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th from 2-4, and 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 1st, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., with Pastor Dennis Arndt officiating. Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in George’s name may be made out to Club Hope at; 26 Fountain Ave., Ellwood City, PA 16117.

    Butch kutuby was a very kind person I had the honor of knowing him,you will be missed
