Wayne Patrick Burick, 86

Dr. Wayne Patrick Burick, 86, of Chewton, PA, peacefully passed away on June 21st ,2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 17, 1939, in Chewton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Frank and Jessie (Rocco) Burick. A proud graduate of Wampum High School, Class of 1957, Wayne went
on to attend Youngstown State University and later earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Burick served his country honorably in the United States Army as a medic, stationed in Nashville, Tennessee. On February 24th, 1968, he married the love of his life, Virginia Sue
Newcomer. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, family, and service to others.

Wayne devoted the majority of his medical career as a radiologist at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, and later at Northside Hospital, where he retired at the age of 75. He was

known for his compassion, integrity, and unwavering dedication to his patients and colleagues.

 

A man of many talents and passions, Wayne followed a dream beyond medicine and opened Tuscany Square Ristorante in Neshannock Township, which he proudly operated from 2001 to

2020. His warm presence and genuine care made the restaurant a beloved gathering place in the community.

 

Wayne was a devoted husband, an incredible father, and a kind, generous man who touched every life he encountered. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Virginia Sue Burick;

his children: Christine Guerrini and her spouse, John Guerrini, Stacey Cunningham and her spouse, Wes Cunningham, Adam and his spouse, Alissa Burick, and Bethany Burick. Among

many who will carry on his legacy of love are his six devoted grandsons, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who he loved and cherished. He is

also survived by his sister-in-laws, Gloria McFarland Burick, Ruth (Mike) Wilkes, Lynn Newcomer, and Elizabeth Durrell.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, John P. Burick; his sister, Gloria A. Houk; and his brother=in-law, James Houk, along with numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

 

Dr. Wayne Burick leaves behind a legacy of compassion, hard work, and deep love for his family and community. His life was an example of grace and generosity, and he will be profoundly

missed by all who knew him.

 

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 29th, 2025 from 5-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, June 30th, 2025 at 10:00 am at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father James Wehner officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the cemetery on Monday by 11:00 am to conduct full military honors.
