Mr. Russell A. Pelligrene, 75, of Koppel passed away on Thursday, June 19th, 2025 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center.
Russell was born in Beaver Falls on June 11th, 1950 to the late Frank “Geene” and Julia (Hawrylak) Pelligrene. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1968 and attended Edinboro University. Russell had worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill in Koppel, was a self employed contractor, and following his retirement he worked at Pitt Raceway in the maintenance department. He is a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. Russell also is a member of the IMBS Club in Koppel, the West Mayfield VFW, and the Sons of Italy in Ellwood City. He enjoyed gardening, building 3D wood puzzles, and being active and engaged with various projects around the house.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Sainato) Pelligrene whom he married on March 1st, 1974, daughter, Jennifer Pelligrene of Ellwood City, son, Derek and his wife Jen Pelligrene of North Carolina, grandchildren, Molly Pelligrene and Leland Pelligrene, sister, Helen (Ron) Lindsay of Koppel, sister-in-law, Donna Sainato of Boston, brother-in-law, Jeff (Mary) Sainato of Ellwood City, and several nieces and nephews.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents, his loving granddaughter, Frankie Pelligrene, brother-in-law, Dennis “Butch” Sainato, and his father and mother-in-law, Louis and Helen Sainato.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
