Leona W. Wolfe, 100

Mrs. Leona W. Wolfe, 100, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, May 29th, 2025 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

Mrs. Wolfe was born in Ellwood City on February 21st, 1925 to the late Stanislaw and Caroline (Pogozelec) Sutkowski. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1943. Prior to getting married, Leona worked for U.S. Steel in Ellwood City as a secretary. Leona is a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church and the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers. She also is one of the last “Pierogi Ladies” from the former St. Agatha Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, was known as an expert pie baker, and especially cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Conti of Gibsonia, Elaine Wolfe and Barry Silverman of Pittsburgh, and Chris and her husband Mark Raykovics of New Castle, grandchildren, Raechel (Brian) DeVinney, Anthony Leonard (Rebekah) Conti, Nicholas James Conti, Amelia (Jesse) Seager, Bryan (Kaitlyn) Raykovics, Katherine (Seth) DeHart, and Grace Raykovics, nine great-grandchildren, granddaughter-in-law Cari Conti, and her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Sutkowski.

The last of her siblings, she was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard L Wolfe whom she married on May 10th, 1948 and passed away on August 16th, 2016, her sister, Dorothy Flecher, her brothers, Raymond, John, Edmund, Stanley, and Robert Sutkowski, her grandson, Stanley Jason Conti, and her son-in-law, Stanley Conti.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 1-3 and 6-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father James Wehner officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Tuesday by 9:50 am to form an honor guard.
